Review Articles

SUBMISSION FORMAT

Articles will be submitted in both Spanish and English as a Microsoft Word document. They should be between 10 and 25 pages in length, including figures, tables, and references. Use 1.5 line spacing, Arial font, 12-point size, letter-size paper. Margins should be set at 2.5 cm. Justified text alignment. Tables, figures, or images must appear immediately following the paragraph in which they are cited. They should be numbered consecutively. Each must include a caption explaining the figure, table, etc., and its authorship. Footnotes are not accepted.
All submissions must include the following information on the first page:
  • Title (in Spanish and English).
  • Full names of the author(s), including academic title, academic rank, and scientific degree for each, email address, and ORCID identifier.
  • Institutional affiliation of the author(s) (full institution name, city, and country).
  • Abstracts in Spanish and English, structured according to article type (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions) in a single paragraph.
  • Keywords in Spanish and in English (Keywords), placed below each corresponding abstract (between 3 and 5 words).

Structure of Review Articles

Title: Must clearly reflect the content of the review.
Abstract: A brief summary of the objectives, search methodology, and main conclusions.
Keywords: The manuscript must include between 3 and 5 words or phrases representing the central themes of the work, placed below the abstract.
Introduction: Presents the topic, its importance, and the objectives of the article.
Methods (essential in systematic reviews): Explains how the information was searched (databases consulted, keywords used, criteria for including or excluding studies).
Development/Discussion: The body of the article, where the collected information is organized, compared, and discussed by subtopics.
Conclusions: Summarizes the most important findings and suggests implications or future research directions.
References: A comprehensive list of all cited sources.

Reference Format

All sources cited in the text are listed in alphabetical order by author, with hanging indentation. Examples in APA 7th edition:
